the basics

My Mum has decided to train the cat to use the toilet. I keep calling her mad, but as everybody seems to be interested by this topic I have decided to encourage my Mum and keep track of the cats progress in this blog.
Background information.
Our cat is roughly 9 years old, picked up from a rescue shelter black and white longed hair tabby, named Felix.
My Mum has researched this and seen that the eldest cat trained on quitter litter was around 10 years old.
Rough Plan.
Step 1. Move the cat litter into the Bathroom, this way the cat knows to answer to the call of nature up in the bathroom and gets used to the surroundings.
Step 2. Get Litter Quitter, Put the device on the toilet. What it is, is a litter tray with a hole in the middle, gradually over the plans and the weeks the hole in the middle gets bigger until the cat is just using the toilet. :)
